Our Aerie is looking better every time we go in. Barbara Reasoner and Glen Lambert worked very hard to cover our tables and they look fantastic. I cannot thank everyone who is working to make our home more presentable, but please know that all of your efforts are appreciated. We were very happy to initiate Michelle Tuck on January 8, 2008. We have one other application in the pipeline, but need to continue to try to sign new members. Get out there and invite your friends to join.

Virginia State Madam President, Marlene, will be attending our meeting on March 25, 2008. Please help us make a good showing by planning to attend this meeting.

Our first dance will be held on March 1, 2008 at the Ashland Moose Lodge. The band is the Wild Fire Band. Tickets are $10.00 per person and are available by contacting Lisa Barnett at 798-9143 or lisa.barnett@troutmansanders.com. If you would like to mail a check to Lisa Barnett, 305 N. Snead Street, Ashland, VA 23005, I will put your tickets in return mail or hold them for you at the door.

The Auxiliary raised an amazing $184.00 at the Flea Market in Fredericksburg last month! Just proves that one man’s junk is another man’s treasure. Thanks to Wanda Gray, Barbara Reasoner and Karen Richards for their hard work. Hopefully this spring we can try to have a yard sale locally for a local charity - so keep you eye open for “treasures” you may be willing to part with.

I also have tickets available for two raffles sponsored by the State Auxiliary.

The first is for a hand made afghan to benefit the Sexual and Domestic Violence Coalition. Tickets are $2.00 each. Again, if you would like to mail a check to me, I will put your tickets in the mail.

The second is the Virginia State Auxiliary Raffle which has a total of 3 drawings. The first drawing for a $500.00 prize will be held on February 9, 2008 at the State Conference in Staunton. I will be going to the Conference and will turn in any ticket stubs I have before the drawing. There will be two drawings at the State Convention in June – one for $500.00 and one for $1,000.00. Tickets are $1.00 each. Again, I will happily mail tickets to you upon receipt of a check.
